Blepharoplasty is best defined as eyelid surgery that improves the appearance of the eyelids. Aside from fixing those ‘defects,’ blepharoplasty also removes excess skin and puffiness from the upper and lower eyelids. The lower eyelids are the ones where eyebags form, which is caused by extruded fat from the eyeball cavity and produces that very old, very tired look to the face. Through surgery, slits are enhanced wherein folds are formed that can make it easier to put on make-up, as in the case of females. “What makes blepharoplasty an attraction is that the operation can be done simultaneously with both eyes the most within two hours, and without much pain. What is needed is the application of prescribed ointment over the incision lines for the first few days,” said Ms. Susan Alonzo, Clinic Manager of Beaufaces. “Just as blepharoplasty enhances the eyes by giving it a very attractive look, it also helps improve vision.”
