Nose
Lift, Nose Augmentation or Rhinoplasty
“Our
nose
is more than just
for smelling, (sneezing) and breathing. Its shape and size help define
our appearance, as well as influence our overall self-image. Because
next to the eyes, our nose is the focal point of our face.”
A
popular cosmetic surgery called RHINOPLASTY
or better known as NOSELIFT
can help shape better confidence in facial looks by creating a nose
that’s more compatible with the rest of the facial features.
This procedure is designed to reduce or increase the size of the nose,
change the shape of the tip or bridge and thin the width of the
nostrils. Rhinoplasty or
Nose surgery
can also restore proper breathing and function by correcting nasal
deformities, both congenital and resulting from injury.
The
surgery: This operation
involves by inserting a cartilage graft, a gore-tex
implant or a silicon implant to increase the height of the tip and the
bridge of the nose. The operation lasts for approximately an hour; the
more complex procedures may last longer. At Beaufaces,
we prefer the closed method, with incisions performed inside the nose.
We are reserving the open procedure for the more complicated cases.
After the surgery, the nose is covered with nasal splint and bandage.
The surgery is usually done at the clinic under local anesthesia and as
an outpatient basis.
Post Nose
Lift/ Nose
Augmentation
surgery:
While
recuperating at home, the patient is advised to take antibiotics, pain
reliever and antihistamine. These medicines prescribed by Dr.
Alonzo should be strictly
followed to avoid any further complication. You will be required to see
our surgeon, on the third day for the removal of the bandage/splint
then on the 7th day and 10th day for the removal of stitches.
Post
Nose
surgery recovery:
During
the first days after the operation, the patient may feel little pain
and discomfort due to face swollen (especially on the lower eyelids)
and nose
puffiness. In this case, you can control any discomfort with a
pain medication prescribe by Dr. Alonzo. Applying cold compress will
also reduce swelling which will obviously relieve these symptoms. You
should not be alarmed if there is some bleeding from the incision site,
as this is normal and often resolve within 2 days. Swelling and
bruising around the eyes will start to disappear within a week and will
completely subside for about 2 weeks.
You
can go back to work in 1 to 2 weeks, but strenuous activities should be
avoided in the next 2 to 3 weeks. After the removal of the bandage and
stitches, you must take care of your nose and avoid getting it injured
until it is completely healed. The frames of glasses should not be
allowed to rest on the bridge of the nose for three weeks. You can wear
contact lenses within two to three days after the surgery.
Rhinoplasty/noselift can be enhanced further with other
cosmetic surgery procedures such as
eyebag removal, eyelid creation, dimple construction, cleft chin,
dimple construction and botox injection.
“Rhinoplasty
achieves an aesthetic balance on the face, the result thereof being the
boost of your self-confidence.”
